Getting your show onto Castbox is not the hard part. Getting it onto Castbox correctly — claimed under your own account, with a feed that validates, artwork that renders, metadata that the recommendation engine can actually read, and analytics you can log into — is where most podcasts quietly lose months.
SEOServiceinIndia runs Castbox podcast submission as a managed service for podcasters, agencies, brands and media teams across the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and India. We submit the feed, complete the ownership verification, fix whatever the feed is missing, optimize how your show appears inside the app, and then extend the same feed to the rest of the directories that matter.
What Castbox Is, and Why It Still Belongs on Your Distribution List
Castbox launched in 2016 and grew into a spoken-audio platform rather than a plain podcast player. It carries podcasts, radio, audiobooks and other spoken content in one app, and it built its reputation on discovery — personalised recommendations and in-audio search that surfaces episodes based on what is actually said inside them, not just what is written in the title.
The company reports more than 15 million users worldwide and a spoken-audio library in the tens of millions of episodes. On Android alone the app has passed 10 million+ installs and is still shipping regular releases. It is not Spotify and it is not Apple Podcasts — but it is a genuinely independent, actively maintained platform with a listener base skewed toward people who browse for new shows rather than only opening what they already subscribe to.
That is the whole argument for Castbox. On the big two platforms, most plays come from existing subscribers. On a discovery-led app, a well-tagged show with a clean description and readable transcripts has a real chance of being recommended to someone who has never heard of you. For new and mid-size podcasts, that asymmetry is worth claiming.
Transparent service
An Honest Note Before You Buy Anything
Submitting a podcast to Castbox is free. There is no listing fee, no pay-to-play tier, and no paid placement being sold here. We say this on every platform page we publish, because plenty of "podcast submission" offers rely on you not knowing it.
What you are paying us for is the work around the listing:
Auditing and repairing the RSS feed so it passes validation before it is ever submitted
Getting the itunes:email address into the feed and reachable, which is the single most common reason a Castbox claim fails
Completing the ownership claim so the channel sits under your account with analytics, not orphaned in the directory
Writing and optimizing the metadata that decides whether the platform's recommendation engine can place your show
Extending the same corrected feed across the wider directory set, so one round of work pays off in twenty places
Reporting what actually happened, with proof
If all you want is one URL pasted into one form, you do not need an agency. If you want the feed to be correct, the claim to succeed, and the listing to be discoverable, that is a project.
How it works
How a Castbox Listing Actually Works
There are two paths in, and knowing which one applies to you changes the entire timeline.
Path one — your show is already on Castbox. If your podcast is live on Apple Podcasts, there is a strong chance it has already been pulled into Castbox's public directory automatically. It exists, listeners can find it, but nobody owns it. You have no analytics, no ability to reply to listener comments, no control over the feed pointer, and no way to update the listing if you migrate hosts. This is the situation most established shows are in without realising it.
Path two — your show is not on Castbox yet. In that case the claim process and the submission are the same action. Castbox accepts an RSS feed at the point of claiming, so completing the claim adds your show to the public directory at the same time.
Either way, the mechanism is identical: Castbox verifies ownership by emailing the address published inside your RSS feed's itunes:email tag. Not the address on your website. Not the address on your hosting account. The address inside the feed. If that tag is missing, wrong, or points to an inbox nobody can open, the claim cannot complete — and that is exactly where the majority of DIY attempts stall.
Managed workflow
Our Castbox Podcast Submission Process, Step by Step
01
Step 1 — Feed and directory audit
Before anything is submitted, we pull your live RSS feed and run it through validation. We check the required channel-level tags, episode enclosures, GUID stability, artwork dimensions and file type, category assignment, explicit flags, language declaration and the author/owner block. We also search Castbox to establish whether your show is already listed, because that determines whether this is a claim or a fresh submission.
02
Step 2 — Feed remediation
Whatever the audit surfaces, we fix — working through your host's controls, not by hacking around them. The most common repairs are exposing the owner email address in the feed, correcting artwork that falls outside the required square dimensions or uses an unsupported format, cleaning HTML out of descriptions where it breaks rendering, and correcting category tags that were guessed rather than chosen. On hosts like Buzzsprout, Audioboom, SoundCloud, Libsyn, Blubrry, Podbean and Transistor, publishing the author email is a documented setting; we know where it lives on each and we turn it on properly.
03
Step 3 — Account setup and claim submission
We set up or access your Castbox account, open Creator Studio, and submit the claim from the Channels tab using your validated feed URL and the verified email address. The platform then issues a confirmation email containing the claim link.
04
Step 4 — Verification and confirmation
We coordinate the verification email with you, complete the confirmation, accept the licence agreement, and finish the claim so the channel is bound to your account. Where the email in your feed cannot be changed quickly, we work through the alternative verification route rather than leaving you waiting on a host support ticket.
05
Step 5 — Listing optimization
A claimed channel is a blank channel until it is filled in. We write the show description for both readers and the recommendation engine, place your primary keywords where they belong without stuffing, assign the most accurate categories, connect your social channels inside Creator Studio, and review how the artwork and title render in Castbox's own layout — which is not the same as Apple's.
06
Step 6 — Verification report and handover
You get a completion report with the live listing URL, screenshots of the claimed channel and the Creator Studio access, a record of every feed change made, and the analytics baseline as of handover. Credentials stay with you.
Discovery optimization
Optimizing Your Show for Castbox Discovery
This is the part that separates a submission service from a distribution service.
Metadata written for recommendation, not just for humans. Castbox's discovery engine reads titles, descriptions, categories and episode-level text. We write show and episode metadata that carries your actual topic vocabulary — the words a listener would search — in natural sentences, front-loaded so they survive truncation in the app's compact list views.
Category accuracy over category ambition. Choosing the biggest category you can plausibly fit into is a losing move on a discovery platform. A precisely categorised show competes in a shallower pool and gets recommended to a better-matched listener. We pick for fit.
Episode titles that work in a feed view. Castbox users browse episode lists. "Episode 47" tells them nothing. We restructure episode titling conventions so each episode earns its own click and its own search surface.
Transcript and show-notes support. In-audio search is Castbox's signature feature, and transcripts strengthen everything downstream — accessibility, on-site SEO, AI answer engines that increasingly cite podcast content. We advise on transcript delivery and can produce optimized show notes as an add-on.
Artwork that survives the small square. Cover art that reads beautifully at 3000×3000 often turns to mush at 120px in a mobile list. We check legibility at the size listeners actually see it.
Distribution reach
Beyond Castbox — The Wider Directory Set
Castbox is one placement. The feed work behind it is reusable, and it would be wasteful not to use it.
Once your feed is clean and validated, we can extend submission and claiming across Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music and Audible, iHeartRadio, Podchaser, Deezer, Player FM, Podcast Index, TuneIn, Pocket Casts, Podcast Addict, fyyd, Listen Notes and the regional directories relevant to your market. Several of these require a separate manual claim or sit behind a review queue that one-click distribution from a host simply does not reach — those are the ones people assume are done and never check.
Where you are targeting a specific market, we prioritise accordingly: Apple and Spotify remain non-negotiable everywhere, iHeartRadio matters disproportionately in the US, Deezer carries real weight in France, Brazil and parts of the Middle East, and in India the Hubhopper, JioSaavn and Amazon Music India stack is worth its own conversation.
Why choose us
Why Work With SEOServiceinIndia
We are an SEO company that does podcast distribution, not a submission bot. The difference shows up in the metadata. Anyone can paste a feed URL. Knowing which words to put in the description, why the category choice matters, and how to make an episode page rank in Google as well as surface in Castbox is a search discipline — and search is our core business.
We work inside your host, not around it. Every fix is made in your hosting dashboard, documented, and left in a state you or your next agency can maintain. No mystery configurations, no dependency on us.
We tell you what is free. Castbox listing is free. Blubrry directory listing is free. Deezer submission is free. We name the free ones and price only the work. Clients who have been burned by "premium placement" offers tend to notice this quickly.
We report with evidence. Live URLs, screenshots, feed-change logs, and an analytics baseline. If a directory rejected the feed, you get the rejection reason, not a silence.
We operate across time zones our clients actually live in. Teams in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and India are supported with communication windows that suit them, not a single Indian business-hours window.
We have done this at volume. Podcast submission and directory work sits alongside our app store optimization, marketplace SEO and content teams. The feed problems we see on a first audit are almost never new ones.
Packages
Castbox Podcast Submission Packages
Every engagement starts with the feed audit, because quoting before we have seen your feed would be guesswork.
Starter — single platform
Castbox submission and ownership claim, feed validation and basic remediation, Creator Studio setup, one round of listing metadata optimization, completion report with proof. Best for a new show going live or an established show that has never been claimed.
Growth — multi-directory
Everything in Starter, plus submission and claiming across the core directory set (Apple, Spotify, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, Podchaser, Deezer, Player FM, Podcast Index and more), episode titling framework, show notes optimization for the first batch of episodes, and a consolidated distribution report. Best for shows publishing consistently that want full coverage in one pass.
Enterprise — network and ongoing
Everything in Growth, applied across multiple shows or a podcast network, plus host migration with 301 feed redirects handled safely, private or premium feed configuration where required, transcript workflow setup, monthly directory-health monitoring, and ongoing episode metadata optimization. Best for media companies, agencies and brands running a slate.
Pricing is confirmed after the audit and depends on show count, episode volume, the state of the existing feed and the number of directories in scope.
Free audit
Get Your Podcast Claimed on Castbox
Send us your RSS feed URL. We will run the audit, tell you whether your show is already sitting unclaimed in the Castbox directory, list exactly what is wrong with the feed, and quote the work honestly — including telling you if there is barely any work to do.
Yes. Castbox does not charge to list or claim a podcast. Our fee covers the feed audit and repair, the ownership verification process, the listing and metadata optimization, and the reporting — not the placement itself, which nobody can sell you.
The submission and claim itself is usually completed within one to three working days once the feed passes validation. The variable is the feed. If the itunes:email tag is missing and your host needs a support ticket to expose it, that can add several days. Feeds that are already clean move fastest.
Castbox indexes shows that are live on Apple Podcasts, so your listing was almost certainly created automatically. It is unclaimed, which means you have no analytics, no control over the feed pointer and no ability to update the listing. Claiming it fixes all three, and we handle that claim as part of the same service.
If your Castbox channel is claimed under your own account, you can update the feed URL from Creator Studio and your listing survives the migration. If it is unclaimed, you cannot — which is one of the strongest arguments for claiming it before you ever need to move. Host migration with proper 301 feed redirects is included in our Enterprise scope.
Yes. The Growth and Enterprise packages cover the full core directory set. Because all of them read the same RSS feed, one round of feed remediation improves every listing at once, which is why we recommend doing them together rather than platform by platform.
Placement plus optimization improves your chances of being discovered — it does not guarantee downloads. Castbox's recommendation engine can only work with what your metadata gives it, so accurate categories, keyword-carrying descriptions and clear episode titles genuinely move the needle. What ultimately retains listeners is the show itself, and we will not claim otherwise.
We work with podcasters and brands globally, with the majority of our clients in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and India. Directory priority is set by your target market, and communication is scheduled to your time zone.
Your RSS feed URL, access to the email address published in the feed (or the ability to change it), and your podcast hosting login if remediation is needed. Everything else is on us, and all credentials remain yours at the end of the engagement.
