Google Ads Packages for Lawyers and Law Firms

Legal is the single most expensive auction on Google. Across more than 13,000 US search campaigns, attorneys and legal services recorded the highest average cost per click of any industry — roughly $9.87, up about 15% year on year. And that blended figure hides the real numbers: high-intent personal injury terms in major metros routinely trade between $150 and $500 per click, and a handful of terms go far higher.

That is not a reason to avoid Google Ads. It is a reason to run it properly. A single retained case in personal injury, commercial litigation or immigration can be worth tens of thousands in fees, which is exactly why every other firm in your city is bidding too. The firms that win are not the ones with the biggest budget — they are the ones whose account is structured by practice area, measured against signed cases instead of form fills, and kept inside the advertising rules their regulator actually enforces.

Our Google Ads packages for lawyers and law firms are built for that reality. We manage paid search for legal practices across the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and India, and every engagement starts with an eligibility and economics check before a single rupee or dollar goes into the auction.

Diagnosis

Why Law Firm PPC Fails Most of the Time

Most underperforming legal accounts fail for the same handful of reasons, and none of them are about bid strategy.

01

Everything sits in one campaign

Family law, criminal defence, personal injury and estate planning have completely different case values, sales cycles and acceptable acquisition costs. Pooled into one campaign with one target, the cheap enquiries eat the budget and the valuable ones never get funded.

02

The account optimises to the wrong outcome

Google will happily maximise form submissions. Form submissions are not clients. Without case data flowing back into the account, Smart Bidding learns to buy the cheapest contact — which in legal is very often a person who cannot be helped, cannot pay, or is in the wrong jurisdiction.

03

Nobody built the negative list

Legal keywords attract law students, people looking for free advice, job seekers, paralegal course searches and rival firms doing competitive research. At $150 a click, ten unqualified clicks in a morning is a real budget event.

04

Intake is slower than the ads

We have audited firms where the paid campaign was performing well and the actual bottleneck was a fourteen-hour callback delay. Paid search does not fix intake. It exposes it.

Eight Deliverables

What Our Google Ads Packages for Law Firms Include

Every package is a full-stack engagement, not a keyword list.

What our Google Ads packages for law firms include — practice area campaigns, call tracking and CRM offline conversion import
01

Regulatory and eligibility review

Before campaign build, we confirm what your regulator permits in your jurisdiction, what claims your ad copy can and cannot make, and whether Local Services Ads are even offered for legal categories in your market.

02

Account architecture by practice area

Separate campaigns per practice area, each with its own budget, its own target cost per case and its own landing page. Personal injury does not share a budget with wills and probate.

03

Keyword and negative keyword build

Intent-tiered keyword sets — emergency, comparison, research and brand — plus a legal-specific negative library that we maintain continuously from the search terms report, not once at launch.

04

Landing pages built to convert enquiries

Practice-area specific pages with the qualifying questions, credentials, jurisdiction, fee structure and contact options a nervous prospect needs. Focused pages, not one page per keyword.

05

Call tracking and call quality measurement

Most legal enquiries arrive as phone calls. We track calls, apply duration thresholds so a thirty-second wrong number is not counted as a lead, and route by practice area.

06

CRM integration and offline conversion import

We connect Clio, MyCase, Litify, Filevine, PracticePanther or your existing system so consultation-booked, qualified and signed-case events flow back into Google Ads.

07

Ad copy written for the regulator and the reader

Claims that pass compliance review, with the reassurance and specificity that actually earn a click.

08

Reporting on cost per signed case

Clicks and impressions are in the appendix. The first page of every report is enquiries, qualified enquiries, and signed matters by practice area.

Compliance First

Advertising Rules Come First, Campaigns Come Second

This is the part most agencies skip, and it is the part that gets accounts suspended and firms reported.

United States

Legal advertising is governed at state level, following the general shape of the ABA Model Rules. Communications must not be false or misleading, comparative superiority claims and past-result references usually require substantiation or a disclaimer, and several states have specific rules on testimonials and specialisation claims. We write copy against your state's rules, not a generic template.

United Kingdom

SRA rules require transparency on price and service for certain work types, and the CMA has pushed firms hard on published pricing. Ad copy and landing pages must line up with what is actually published on the site.

Canada and Australia

Provincial law societies and state regulators set the standards. Australia additionally restricts advertising for personal injury services in several states, so PI campaigns there need jurisdiction-level review before build.

Singapore

The Legal Profession (Professional Conduct) Rules permit publicity but prohibit touting and material that is likely to bring the profession into disrepute. Tone and claims matter more than in most markets.

India — an honest note

Bar Council of India rules restrict advocates from advertising or soliciting work. We do not run client-acquisition campaigns for practising Indian advocates, and any agency that offers to is selling you a professional conduct problem.

What we do run in India is paid search for legal-adjacent businesses — company incorporation and compliance platforms, LPO and legal process outsourcing firms, IP and trademark filing services, contract management software, and tax and regulatory consultancies. Those are legitimate advertisers with real demand.

Local Services Ads for law firms and the 2026 migration into Google Ads pay-per-lead Performance Max
Local Services Ads

Local Services Ads and the 2026 Migration

For firms in markets where they are offered, Local Services Ads sit above paid search on Google and charge per lead rather than per click. Two things have changed and both matter to your budget.

1

The verification badges consolidated. The separate Google Guaranteed and Google Screened badges — including the money-back guarantee attached to the former — were replaced by a single Google Verified badge in late 2025.

2

LSAs are moving into Google Ads. Google is retiring the standalone Local Services Ads dashboard and migrating campaigns into a Performance Max campaign type built for pay-per-lead goals. The first phase began in August 2026 with selected US home and storefront categories; broader advertiser groups follow later in 2026, with remaining categories and non-US accounts scheduled through 2027. Professional service categories including legal are expected in the later waves.

Practically, for a law firm this means: the pay-per-lead model, keywordless targeting and Search plus Maps placement all stay the same, but budgets, bidding and reporting move into the Google Ads interface, historical LSA reports do not carry across and must be exported before your migration date, and campaign-level targets replace per-category targets. Google has also revised which calls count as chargeable leads, including certain missed calls during business hours past a short threshold.

We handle the export, the settings audit and the new baseline for you.

Case Economics

Structuring Campaigns Around Case Value

A signed personal injury case and a signed uncontested divorce are not worth the same to your firm, so they cannot share an acquisition target.

We start by asking what each practice area is actually worth to you — average fee, close rate from qualified enquiry, and how long the matter takes to bill. From there we set an acceptable cost per signed case per practice area, and work backwards to a cost per qualified enquiry the campaign can be judged on.

That number changes everything downstream. It decides which practice areas get budget, whether a competitive metro is worth entering, and which keywords are affordable. It also tells you plainly when a term is not worth bidding on — a genuinely useful answer that most agencies avoid giving.

Law firm Google Ads campaign structure built around case value by practice area

Typical structure across our accounts:

Emergency and high-intent campaigns

"Car accident lawyer near me", "criminal defence solicitor", "DUI attorney". Highest CPC, highest conversion rate, tightest geographic control, call extensions and call-only variants on mobile.

Practice-area campaigns

One per service line, matched to a dedicated landing page, with distinct budgets and targets.

Brand defence

Competitors and directories bid on your firm name. Brand terms are cheap and protecting them is almost always profitable.

Remarketing

Legal decisions are rarely made on the first visit. Remarketing keeps you present while a prospect compares three firms, with careful frequency capping so it reassures rather than unsettles.

Performance Max, with guardrails only

We use PMax where it earns its place, with brand exclusions, account-level negatives, strict audience signals and conversion data that reflects real cases. Never as a default.

Measurement

Measuring What Actually Matters

The measurement chain we build for every legal client runs:

  1. Click
  2. Enquiry
  3. Qualified enquiry
  4. Consultation held
  5. Signed matter

Enquiries are captured through forms, tracked calls and chat. Qualification happens in your intake process, and that qualification decision is imported back into Google Ads as an offline conversion. Bidding then optimises toward the enquiries your intake team actually wants, and away from the ones they waste time on.

The effect is measurable and usually fast. Once real case data reaches the account, wasted spend drops because the algorithm stops chasing volume. Firms frequently see cost per signed case fall while cost per click stays exactly where it was — which is the outcome that pays for the engagement.

We also report on intake performance, because it would be dishonest not to. If speed-to-first-contact is the limiting factor, we will tell you, and we will help you fix it before we recommend increasing budget.

Packages

Google Ads Packages for Lawyers — Three Tiers

Pricing is quoted after audit, because a single-office family law practice and a twelve-location personal injury firm are not comparable engagements. The structures below show what each tier covers.

Google Ads packages for lawyers pricing tiers — Starter, Growth and Enterprise legal PPC plans

Starter

For solo practitioners and small firms in one location, or a single practice area entering paid search for the first time. Includes regulatory review, one to two practice-area campaigns, keyword and negative build, conversion and call tracking setup, one landing page consultation, monthly optimisation and monthly reporting.

Growth

For established multi-practice firms competing in a metro market. Everything in Starter, plus multiple practice-area campaigns, remarketing, brand defence, CRM integration with offline conversion import, ongoing landing page testing, call quality review, competitor monitoring and fortnightly optimisation cycles.

Enterprise

For multi-location firms, national practices and multi-market groups. Everything in Growth, plus per-location and per-jurisdiction account structure, Local Services Ads management and migration handling where eligible, Performance Max with full guardrails, advanced audience and value-based bidding, custom reporting to your management dashboards, and a named strategist with scheduled review calls.

Practice Areas

Practice Areas We Manage Campaigns For

  • Personal injury and accident claims
  • Criminal defence
  • Family law and divorce
  • Immigration
  • Employment law
  • Commercial and corporate law
  • Real estate and conveyancing
  • Wills, trusts and probate
  • Bankruptcy and insolvency
  • Intellectual property
  • Medical negligence
  • Class action and mass tort work

Each of these has different demand patterns, different search behaviour and different economics. We do not port a personal injury playbook onto an immigration account.

Why law firms choose SEOServiceinIndia for Google Ads management across six markets
E-E-A-T

Why Firms Work With SEOServiceinIndia

We work across six markets and know the differences

A campaign for a Toronto family law firm, a London commercial practice and a Sydney employment firm are three different builds with three different rule sets. We do not assume American defaults apply everywhere.

We are honest about fit

If your practice area has too little search volume to justify paid search, or your regulator restricts what you can advertise, we say so during the audit rather than after you have signed. Our India position on Bar Council rules is a live example of that.

We report on outcomes, not activity

Every report opens with enquiries, qualified enquiries and signed matters by practice area. Impressions and click-through rates are supporting detail.

You own everything

Your Google Ads account, your conversion data, your landing pages, your tracking setup. No hostage accounts.

We stay current on the platform

The LSA migration, the badge consolidation, the chargeable-lead changes, policy updates — we track them and adjust your account ahead of the change, not after your leads drop.

Workflow

How We Get Started

The same five stages run on every legal account, from a single-office practice to a multi-market group.

01

Audit

We review your existing account or market opportunity, your practice area economics, your regulatory environment and your intake process.

02

Plan

You receive a written plan with campaign structure, keyword sets, budget allocation by practice area, projected cost per enquiry and target cost per signed case.

03

Build

Campaigns, tracking, CRM integration and landing pages go live together, not in stages.

04

Optimise

Continuous search term review, negative expansion, bid and budget shifts, and creative testing against case data.

05

Report and review

Monthly reporting, plus scheduled strategy reviews on Growth and Enterprise engagements.

It depends entirely on practice area and market. Small and secondary markets can generate meaningful case volume from a few thousand a month, mid-sized metros usually need considerably more to compete on primary terms, and the most contested metros for personal injury run into five figures monthly. Running too small a budget in a competitive market is its own risk, because the campaign never collects enough conversion data for Smart Bidding to optimise properly.

Because case value is high and every firm knows it. When one signed matter can be worth tens of thousands in fees, a two-hundred-dollar click is rational, and in an auction full of rational bidders the price rises. High CPC is a signal of value, not a warning sign — what matters is your cost per signed case, not your cost per click.

No, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. We commit to structure, measurement, optimisation cadence and transparent reporting against agreed targets. Case volume depends on auction conditions, budget, your intake speed and your close rate, and no agency controls all four.

Not for client acquisition by practising advocates — Bar Council of India rules restrict advertising and solicitation. We do run campaigns in India for legal-adjacent businesses such as incorporation and compliance platforms, LPO providers, IP and trademark filing services, and tax and regulatory consultancies.

Where legal categories are offered and you can complete verification, both usually work together — LSAs for pay-per-lead volume and Search for control and message specificity. Availability varies by country and category, so we confirm eligibility for your market during the audit rather than assuming.

The lead flow and placements stay the same; what changes is where the campaign is managed and how budgets and bidding are expressed. The main risk is losing historical reporting, which does not carry across, so we export your data before your assigned migration date and rebuild the reporting baseline in Google Ads.

Enquiries typically begin within days of launch. A reliable read on cost per signed case takes longer — usually two to three months — because matters need to move through intake and consultation before the data means anything.

Yes. Practice-area landing pages are part of the build on all tiers. Sending expensive legal traffic to a generic homepage is the fastest way to waste a budget.
