Google Ads Packages for Restaurants

A restaurant does not lose money because clicks are expensive. It loses money because the wrong people click. A $2 click is cheap right up until it comes from someone browsing recipes, someone who lives forty minutes away, or someone who orders through a delivery app that takes a third of the ticket before the kitchen sees a rupee or a dollar.

Our Google Ads packages for restaurants are built around one number: cost per cover. Not impressions, not clicks, not vanity conversions. What it costs to put one paying guest at your table, or one full-price order through your own ordering channel. That number decides every keyword, every schedule, every bid.

We run restaurant paid media for independent venues, multi-location groups, cloud kitchens, cafes, bars, and catering operators across the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore, and India.

The Difference

Why Restaurant Paid Search Behaves Nothing Like Other Industries

Most agencies run a restaurant account the way they run a plumber or a law firm, and it fails quietly. Four things make this vertical different.

01

The ticket is small and the margin is thin

Independent restaurants typically operate on low single-digit net margins, so a channel that eats 20% of revenue does not shave profit — it erases it. Every ad decision has to be measured against a $25 to $60 average check, not a $5,000 case value.

02

The catchment is tiny

Nobody drives 30 kilometres for a Tuesday lunch. Real demand sits inside a 2–8 km ring, and everything outside it is budget leaking away.

03

The demand is time-shaped

Search for "restaurants near me" spikes between 11:30 and 13:00 and again from 18:00 to 21:00. A flat 24-hour budget spends most of its money while your kitchen is closed.

04

The conversion is often invisible

A great campaign might produce no online form fill at all. It produces a walk-in, a phone call, a directions tap, or a table booked on a third-party reservation platform. If measurement is not built for that, the account will look like it is failing when it is working.

Fit Assessment

Is Google Ads Actually Right for Your Restaurant? An Honest Fit Test

We would rather tell you no than take a retainer that cannot pay for itself. Paid search delivers strongest for restaurants in these situations:

  • A new opening or relocation, where nobody is searching your brand name yet
  • Catering, private dining, large parties, and events — high-ticket bookings that justify a real cost per lead
  • Delivery-first and cloud kitchen brands trying to shift volume off commission platforms
  • Multi-location groups and franchises with enough footprint to make measurement work
  • Destination and fine dining venues drawing from a whole city, not one neighbourhood
  • Any brand whose name is being bid on by aggregators and directories

If you are a single neighbourhood cafe already ranking well in Maps with a strong review profile, the honest answer is that Google Business Profile optimization and local SEO will move your covers further for less. We will say so in the audit, and we offer both.

Brand Defence

Winning Back the Orders You Are Already Paying For

This is the highest-return campaign in most restaurant accounts, and most restaurants never run it.

When a hungry customer types your restaurant's name into Google, the first results they see are frequently delivery marketplaces and directory listings bidding on your brand. The customer thinks they are ordering from you. Commercially, they are not. Published 2026 rate cards put base delivery commission at roughly 15–30% of each order — DoorDash at 15%, 25% or 30% by plan plus around 6% on pickup, Uber Eats at 20%, 25% or 30% by plan — and most independents find the blended real cost lands between 25% and 35% once delivery, processing and marketing fees stack. In India, commission typically runs 25–27% of order value for a single-outlet restaurant on both major platforms, charged on top of GST, payment gateway fees, and any campaign spend the restaurant opts into, with 18–22% negotiable at roughly ten or more locations.

Set that against reality: the average independent restaurant runs on a 3–5% net profit margin, so giving 25–30% of online order revenue to a third-party app erases the margin entirely on those orders.

A brand-defence campaign puts your own ad above that listing and routes the guest to your own ordering page at full margin. Because the searcher already knows your name, quality scores are high and clicks are cheap. We are not anti-aggregator — marketplaces are excellent acquisition tools. The strategy is to let them find you new customers, and to make sure your repeat customers come home. That single shift, applied to a fraction of monthly orders, routinely returns more than the entire ad budget.

Account Structure

Campaign Architecture: Separating Demand That Does Not Belong Together

We never let dine-in, delivery, and events share a campaign. They have different values, different geography, and different urgency, and blending them lets the cheapest conversion soak up the budget.

Google Ads campaign structure for restaurants separating dine-in, delivery, catering, and brand defence
01

Brand and defence

Your name, misspellings, "near me" brand variants, and competitor-adjacent terms where permitted.

02

High-intent local dine-in

Cuisine plus location, "best [cuisine] restaurant in [area]", "[dish] near me", "open now", "book a table". Tight radius, mobile-heavy, aggressive at meal times.

03

Reservations and bookings

Occasion-led demand — anniversary dinner, birthday party venue, rooftop dining, date night restaurant — where booking value is higher and lead time is longer.

04

Catering, private dining, and events

The profit centre. Separate budget, separate landing page, longer forms that qualify guest count, date, and budget.

05

Online ordering and delivery

Only where you have a direct ordering channel worth sending traffic to.

06

Performance Max and Demand Gen for reach

Used with guardrails — brand exclusions, asset-level reporting, and never as a replacement for search.

07

Remarketing

Menu viewers who did not book, cart abandoners on your ordering system, and past guests during quiet weeks.

08

Negative keyword architecture

Negative keyword work is not a one-time task here. Restaurant queries attract recipe seekers, job hunters, franchise enquiries, and students researching hospitality courses. We build the negative architecture on day one and prune it every week.

Scheduling

Bidding to the Clock, the Calendar, and the Kitchen

Restaurant demand is not steady, so the budget should not be either. We schedule against the shifts that actually need filling.

Spend where the demand actually is

Bids rise into the lunch and dinner decision windows and fall to near zero overnight unless you trade late. Weekend brunch, quiz nights, and match days get their own schedules. Occasion peaks — Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, New Year's Eve, Diwali, Christmas, Eid, Lunar New Year — are planned weeks ahead, because the auction on those dates gets expensive fast and last-minute entry is the costliest way to compete.

And stop paying for demand you already have

The reverse matters just as much. If Saturday dinner is already fully booked, spending more on Saturday dinner is waste. We pace spend toward the shifts with empty covers — the mid-week lunch, the early sitting, the slow Monday — and pair those with off-peak offers. Paid media that respects kitchen capacity earns its retainer twice: once by filling gaps, once by not paying for demand you already have.

Compliance Gate

Alcohol Advertising: A Compliance Gate Most Agencies Miss

If your venue is a bar, a pub, a brewery, or a restaurant whose ads mention cocktails, wine pairings, happy hour, or bottomless brunch, Google's Alcohol policy governs the account — and it is changing right now.

Google is updating its alcohol advertising policy on September 30, 2026, revising country-specific guidelines, expanding allowed advertising locations, and adding clearer detail on advertiser requirements and responsibilities. This follows a July 28, 2026 update that expanded the approved geographic locations for the sale and informational promotion of alcoholic beverages, adding around thirty countries with per-region ABV limits — Ecuador under 5%, Iceland under 2.25%, Vietnam under 5.5%.

The India-facing detail matters most for our regional clients. Advertisers wanting to promote 0% alcohol alternative beverages in countries where alcohol advertising is strictly prohibited — specifically Egypt, India and Indonesia — must complete a "0% alcohol advertising application", and Google warns that violations of the 0% alcohol promotion policy are considered egregious, with immediate account suspension possible without prior warning and a permanent advertiser ban.

Practically, this means an Indian restaurant cannot advertise its bar programme, and even a mocktail or zero-proof menu needs the correct application before it appears in an ad. We audit ad copy, assets, landing pages, and age targeting against the current policy before anything goes live, because in this category the penalty is not a disapproved ad — it is the account.

Measurement

Measurement: The Store Visits Wall, and What We Do Instead

Here is the part every honest restaurant PPC page should include and almost none do.

Google can report store visits — real footfall attributed to ad clicks — but not every account qualifies. Google recommends a minimum of ten business locations for campaigns using store visits or store sales, and a minimum of five for campaigns using local actions. Eligibility also depends on overall click volume, all locations being present in the linked Business Profile account, and location assets being enabled, since campaigns that opt out of location assets are not eligible for store visits at all.

Translation: a single-site restaurant will usually never see store visit data, no matter what it is promised. Advertisers who are not eligible for store visits can optimize toward local actions instead, which include contacts and direction clicks.

So we build measurement in layers that work at your actual scale:

  • Call tracking with a duration threshold, so a 12-second wrong number is not counted as a booking
  • Reservation confirmations imported from your booking platform as the primary conversion
  • Direct order revenue from your ordering system, with real values, not flat placeholders
  • Local actions — direction requests, menu views, call clicks — valued proportionally, never treated as sales
  • Offline import of catering and event bookings once they are confirmed, so bidding learns which enquiries are worth money
  • Store visits or PMax for store goals only where the account genuinely qualifies

You will always know which number is measured and which is modelled. We label them differently in every report.

Conversion Path

The Plumbing: Booking and Ordering Paths That Actually Convert

Traffic is only half the job. Most restaurant ad budgets are wasted on a destination that cannot close.

We audit and fix the path a guest lands on: a mobile page that loads in under two seconds, today's hours visible without scrolling, a readable menu that is not a pinch-to-zoom PDF, prices shown, a tap-to-call button in the thumb zone, and a booking widget that opens in two taps.

We also connect the Google-side surfaces that convert without a website visit at all. Reserve with Google lets diners book from your Business Profile through an approved provider, and if you do not work with a provider you can add your own booking link to the profile directly. Your ordering link, dining attributes, menu, hours, and photos are aligned with what the ads promise, so the ad, the profile, and the landing page all tell one story.

Packages

Google Ads Packages for Restaurants

Every quote follows an audit — we do not price blind. These tiers describe scope, not a fixed fee.

Google Ads package tiers for restaurants from single venue to franchise groups

Starter — single venue

Brand defence plus one high-intent local campaign. Conversion tracking, call tracking, negative keyword architecture, radius and daypart scheduling, Business Profile and booking link alignment, monthly reporting.

Growth — established or multi-channel venue

Everything in Starter, plus separate dine-in, ordering, and reservation campaigns, a dedicated catering and events campaign with its own landing page, remarketing, seasonal and occasion planning, offline conversion import, and fortnightly optimization.

Enterprise — groups, franchises, and cloud kitchen networks

Everything in Growth, plus per-location campaign or asset group structure, Performance Max for store goals where eligible, location-level budget allocation, franchise co-op coordination, cross-market compliance review, and a named strategist with weekly reporting.

Pricing depends on how many venues you run, how competitive your catchment is, and whether catering, delivery and compliance work sit inside the scope. Share your website and current account access, and we will quote against your real numbers rather than a generic package.

Global Delivery

Market Notes Across the Regions We Serve

The mechanics of restaurant paid search are constant, but the auction, the catchment and the rules are not. Here is how the work changes market by market.

Restaurant Google Ads management across USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and India

United States and Canada

The most mature delivery-marketplace competition, so brand defence carries the heaviest weight. Strong store-visit eligibility for groups with enough locations.

United Kingdom

Dense city catchments where radius targeting must be measured in walking minutes rather than kilometres. Occasion and set-menu demand is highly seasonal.

Australia

Wide suburban catchments, strong brunch and weekend culture, and a significant premium on booking-led rather than delivery-led campaigns.

Singapore

Small geography makes radius targeting nearly meaningless, so cuisine, occasion, and mall or district targeting do the work instead. Corporate catering is a strong secondary funnel.

India

The aggregator economics are the most severe in this list, which makes direct-ordering campaigns the single clearest win. Alcohol promotion is off the table entirely, so the creative angle shifts to food, family dining, occasions, and value.

The 2026 benchmark you are bidding against

Restaurants and Food averages a $2.05 CPC in 2026 with roughly 7.6% CTR, 7.1% conversion rate, and about $30 cost per lead, with expected CPC typically falling between $1.54 and $2.77 — well under the $5.42 cross-industry average.

Why Restaurants Work With SEOServiceinIndia

We know where the money leaks

We have run paid media for hospitality brands long enough to know where the money leaks — in the catchment, in the clock, in the compliance, and in the commission. Our restaurant accounts are managed by specialists who read a P&L before they read a keyword report, because a campaign that produces covers you cannot serve profitably is not a success.

Direct access, plain reporting, no lock-in

You get direct access to the person managing your account, a reporting pack written in covers and revenue rather than impressions, full ownership of your Google Ads account and all its data, and no long lock-in contracts. If paid search is not the right channel for your venue, we will tell you in the audit and point you at what is.

Start with the audit

Budget follows catchment size and goal, not a fixed rule. A single-venue local campaign in a mid-size city can produce meaningful volume on a modest budget because restaurant clicks are among the cheapest on the platform. Multi-location groups and catering-led accounts need more, because they are bidding across several areas and higher-value intents. We size the budget in the audit against your average check and your empty covers.

In 2026, expected CPC for restaurants and food typically falls between $1.54 and $2.77, with an industry midpoint near $2.05, and most advertisers see cost per lead between $23 and $41 depending on quality score, location targeting, and keyword match strategy. Brand defence clicks usually cost far less than that; catering and event clicks cost more.

Partially, and we are precise about which part. Calls, reservations, and direct orders are tracked as real conversions. Physical footfall through Google's store visits reporting requires account-level eligibility that most single-site restaurants never reach, so we optimize toward local actions such as direction requests and call clicks instead, and value them conservatively.

Yes, but for a different job. Marketplaces are effective at finding you new customers. They are expensive at serving your existing ones, because the commission applies to every repeat order forever. Paid search is how you take repeat and brand demand back into your own channel at full margin.

It depends entirely on the market. Alcohol is a restricted category with country-by-country eligibility, ABV limits, and age-targeting requirements, and a major policy rewrite takes effect on 30 September 2026. In India, alcohol advertising is prohibited, and even zero-alcohol promotion requires a specific application. We check eligibility before any alcohol-related asset is written.

Brand defence usually pays back within the first two to three weeks because the intent is already there. Local dine-in and ordering campaigns need four to six weeks to clear the learning period and accumulate enough conversion data for smart bidding. Catering and events take longer, because the enquiry-to-booking cycle is longer.

Yes. For most restaurants the two channels are inseparable — ads bring the click, the profile closes it. Our restaurant packages include profile alignment as standard, and full local SEO is available alongside.

Always. The account is created under your ownership, all historical data stays with you, and if you leave, you leave with everything. We do not run client campaigns inside an agency-owned account.
